A dialogue between heritage and modernity, where classic architecture meets sculptural calm and contemporary refinement.

Set within a historic townhouse in Haarlem, this residence is a symphony of contrast — where architectural heritage finds its counterpoint in modern sensuality. Each level unfolds as an exploration of atmosphere and craft: the upper floors shaped by elegance and restraint, the lower by intimacy and immersion. Materials — marble, bronze, velvet, and glass — compose a tactile narrative, illuminated by curated light and art. The result is a timeless home: both museum and sanctuary, sculpted for modern living.

Behind glass-panelled doors, the entry unfolds like a gallery. A reflective bronze sculpture commands the center beneath a crystal chandelier, mirrored in the polished marble floor. Wall mouldings nod to classical origins, while proportion and precision bring a modern pulse. It is an overture of balance — art and architecture in poised alignment.

“A meeting of eras, translated through proportion and restraint.”

Historic grandeur meets contemporary ease. Soft neutral upholstery rests against ornate ceilings, while filtered daylight warms the palette of taupe, bronze, and smoke. Every surface is deliberate — from the carved marble fireplace to the hand-finished walls that absorb light in muted glow. The result is cinematic calm; heritage reimagined for a quieter kind of luxury.

“Modern ease within classical architecture.”

The adjoining salon sharpens the visual rhythm. Abstract black-and-white art creates dialogue with plush seating and burnished brass accents. Geometry, tone, and light dance in controlled harmony — a study in spatial balance that feels as effortless as it is exacting. It is both a room for conversation and contemplation.

A space designed for both intimacy and ceremony.

Soft daylight filters through linen drapery onto velvet dining chairs and sculptural forms. Every detail — from the bust atop the console to the fine-grained wood flooring— is curated, not decorative.
Here, simplicity is sophistication.

A monolithic island of dark marble commands the kitchen’s center, surrounded by cabinetry in smoked oak and black glass.
Recessed lighting traces each plane with architectural precision. The atmosphere is immersive, a blend of strength and stillness — refined materials set within disciplined geometry. At night, the space transforms into a sculptural vignette of reflection and warmth.

"Every line a composition, every surface a reflection.”
